Support Motion M-32 Contributions of Chinese Canadians

Chinese Canadians have helped build Canada from the very beginning. Their contributions can be seen in every part of our country’s success, from the workers who helped construct our national railway, to the entrepreneurs, community leaders, public servants, and professionals who continue to strengthen our communities today.

That is why I am proud to be a joint seconder of Motion M-32, introduced by my Conservative colleague MP Chak Au. The motion calls on Parliament to designate June 22 as National Chinese Canadian Contributions Day and to designate June as Chinese Canadian Contributions Month.

June 22, 2026 marked the twentieth anniversary of the Government of Canada’s official apology and redress for the Chinese Head Tax, an important milestone in our country’s history.

Recognizing the contributions of Chinese Canadians is about celebrating an important part of Canada’s story. It is an opportunity to honour the achievements, sacrifices, and lasting legacy of generations of Chinese Canadians who have helped make our country stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive.

I invite you to join me in supporting Motion M-32 by adding your name to this petition.

Petition

I support Motion M-32 and the recognition of the contributions of Chinese Canadians to Canada.

Chinese Canadians have made significant contributions to our country’s development and continue to play an important role in every sector of Canadian society. Their hard work, innovation, leadership, and community involvement have helped shape the Canada we know today.

By signing this petition, I support:

  • Designating June 22 of each year as National Chinese Canadian Contributions Day; and
  • Designating June as Chinese Canadian Contributions Month.

Together, we can recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of Chinese Canadians and ensure their stories remain an important part of Canada’s national heritage.
