Seven Months In, and Still No Plan for 2025-26
It is October 1, 2025. The government’s fiscal year is April 1 to March 31. We are now seven months into the fiscal year without having a budget telling Canadians how government is going to choose what it is spending money on this year.
Budgets are important documents. They represent choices. They represent priorities and they represent respect for other people’s money. There have been no priorities revealed for this fiscal year, which is now more than half behind us. Nobody knows what the government’s priorities and choices are for this year. This shows a complete disregard for other peoples’ money.
The government just keeps spending money, boosting the deficit and racking up the debt.
The Prime Minister’s “solution” is that he intends to change the way the numbers are reported.
