July 4 – A Marathon of Events

Bankview community association on Saturday. Great live music!
Canadian Chamber of Commerce event at Rooftop YYC on Saturday. The event brought together politicians and industry leaders, providing the opportunity to network and discuss how we can further support Canada’s economic development.
Pride Day on Saturday at Nashville North (an official stampede event). Always entertaining, this year there was a Drag Show, great music, and as always I got to meet and reconnect with many community leaders and organizers in Calgary’s LGBTQ community.

This morning I dusted off my boots for the annual First Flip Pancake Breakfast, one of my – and many other Calgarians’ – favourite traditions. I saw some old friends, met some new ones, and flipped more than a few pancakes in the process. It’s always a pleasure to see how much Stampede brings us together every year, and to have the opportunity to speak to so many Calgarians and visitors alike. Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and happy Stampede!
The Calgary Dream Centre breakfast on Thursday. I said a few words to thank the organizers and welcome everyone to Stampede. The Dream Centre provides vocational training and recovery programs for addiction. It is on Macleod Trail.
