The first obligation of any government is to get the basics right. That means food and shelter. But under this government, food and shelter costs are dramatically up and still rising, and so are visits to food banks. In Question Period on Dec 6, I asked the government if they will commit to getting the basics back under control? I don’t mean sending one-off payments to some people to buy a couple weeks’ food, or cutting the GST on snacks and alcohol for two months. I mean getting the basics under control with sound anti-inflationary policies. This government is trying to put band-aids on the wounds they themselves created.
