Earlier this year, I sat for an interview with a student group called CIVIX, which encourages youth understanding of and involvement in Canadian democracy. Here’s the video they produced. It is key to Canada’s future, in my opinion, that young Canadians learn about democracy, learn to separate information from disinformation, and become personally involved in national decision-making. So many issues that we as Parliamentarians are deciding today will have a lasting and profound influence on the future that they inherit. The more young people know and participate, the more likely that we will make good decisions today for their future.
