At the Environment Committee, I questioned Minister Steven Guilbeault about the huge $22 billion cost overrun on the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion (TMX). Where did those additional billions go? Is the Minister – given his history of opposing TMX – making decisions that both delay the pipeline and raise its cost? Does he understand the implications to the world, in an age of energy insecurity, of not developing Canada’s resources?
